32. Right click on the "Font2" layer and in the Options box that pops up, choose
"Duplicate." You wont see anything happen as the image is over the first one.
33. Go to "Image/mirror." The second "G" will appear on the otherside of the "?".
34. Click on the "Layers Option Pallet." , you should have 7 layers. "Layer 1 [transparent layer];
color layer; plate rim layer; plate inner layer; font1 layer; font2 layer and copy of
font2 layer."

35. Turn off "Layer 1; color layer; plate rim layer and plate inner layers"
by clicking on the small "glasses." There will be small red crosses on each of the "glasses."
36. Go to "Layers/merge/merge visible." The "Font1"; "Font2" and "copy of Font2 layers"
will now become "merged." Turn the layers back on again by clicking on the small red crosses.
Right click on the merged layer, then left click on properties and rename it "font lace."

37. Go to "File/save/" and your work will be saved as "plate1.psp." Save your work often
and always in ".psp" extension until the final "save as." |

between the other "font lace" on the "plate rim."

rim layer; plate inner layer," by clicking on the small "glasses." There will be small
red crosses on each of the "glasses." |

51. Go to "Layers/merge/merge visible." The "Font lace" and "copy of Font lace layers"
will now become "merged." Turn the layers back on again by clicking on the small red crosses.

52. Go to "File/save/" and your work will be saved as "plate1.psp." Save your work often

59. Now to decorate the center of the plate. Choose any flower or flower arrangement and
open it on the desktop.
60. Go to "Edit/copy." Activate the "Font lace layer" on the original image and go to
"Edit/paste/paste as new layer."
61. Click on the "Mover Tool"
and position the flowers in the center of the plate just where you think they look best. |

62. Click on the "Layers Option Pallet." , turn off "Layer 1 [transparent layer] and the color layer."
Go to "Layer/merge/merge visible." Turn the layers back on again by clicking on the small
red crosses. Right click on the merged layer, then left click on properties and rename it
"plate."
63. Now to decide what type of background you wish your completed plate to be on. If you
decide to have the "pink color" as your background, just go to "Layers/merge/merge
all flatten."
64. If you want a different background, delete the color layer, activate "layer 1" and
flood fill with a color or pattern of your choice. |
65. Go to "File/save as/" and save your work as a .jpg extension. |
66. Here are two other examples of "Folk Art plates" using the Font "FrenchScript BT."
I chose the letters "J" and "G," size 30 and placed them on the rim so as to make a
different type of pattern. Let your imagination "run free" and have fun. |
