July 5 Hustler Fowler, after holding several small jobs in and around Harlem, other than selling papers, moves to the Lower East Side to work at Mama Nuss's Restaurant

Sept. 8 Sketch Meeks joins Harlem newsgirls

Sept. 22 Red Anderson, leader of East Harlem newsboys, is caught by police and returned to his parents who send to boarding school in Connecticut

Jan. 6 Quill Swipple joins Harlem newsgirls

March 13 Meggie Lewis leaves the Harlem newsgirls
April 21 Verity Fowler begins working Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at Literary Pursuits, a new bookstore near St. Nicholas Park, but still sells newspapers the rest of the week
May 30 Stitches Baranski leaves the East Harlem newsboys' lodging house for parts unknown.
June 10 Memphis and Cody McGowan depart the East Harlem newsboys' lodging house.
June 20 Needle shocks all of East Harlem by bringing home his three year old daughter Karry.
Aug. 6 Pistol Conroy returns to Colorado and leaves the East Harlem newsboys' lodging house.
Oct. 2 Bay Miller joins the Harlem newsgirls.
Dec. 16 Smoke Schaefer and Hammer Brown elope.
Dec. 27 Mace McIntyre attacks Ruby Gallagher in Queens.
1903
Apr. 7 Ruby Gallagher was married to Four Eyes O'Malley and left the Harlem Newsgirls
Oct. 16 William Ryan O'Malley junior is born
June Zachary Pol packed up his things and disappeared one day in June 1903. Shortly afterwards, Lieutenant Lansing came looking for him.
July 24 Fib Wilcox joins the East Harlem Newsboys.
August 18 Carmella Hill is born to Needle and Amarilla in Greenwich Village.
Feb. 26 Circus Monahan reunites with his love, Maddie, and returns to Washington, D.C. with her.
Dec. 25 After two years of dating, Noah Kingston proposes to Verity Fowler. She says yes, and they begin making plans for an August 31 wedding.
1904
Feb. 16 Quill Hammond and Cordelia Williamston go to work as seamstresses at a shirtwaist factory
March 20 Jace Valone has her baby and moves in with her grandparents in Long Island.
Spider McKennah gets into trouble with the cops and hurriedly leaves town.
March 21 Upon finding more profitable business opportunities outside of the city, Doc Guerra leaves Harlem.
August Fingers Mulcahy and Blind Diamond Connor break off their engagement, and Fingers leaves Harlem.
December 20 Midge Gambino leaves Harlem.
