Harp FX Studio Harp FX Studio was designed in 2000 by Windsor-born harpist Melenia Gacanin. The idea was for a music studio that dealt with harps both classical and celtic. It would be a single, central venue for harp students, masterclasses, harp regulation, harp products and harp bookings for special events. It would also be a friendly environment where harpists could meet and play together, become memebers and work as a harp community to promote this unique instrument. Due to the rise in popularity of the harp, Melenia saw this venue as a convenient location for harpists throughout South Western Ontario and parts of Michigan to have access to harp regulation - an annual harp tune-up. Currently Melenia is researching techniques of Lyon & Healy harp regulators and will be working with The Harp Connection in Boston to obtain certification. Students of the Harp FX Studio range from ages 10-73 at all levels. They regularly compete in the Kiwanis Music Festival and participate in masterclasses across Canada. Students may begin harp on one of the Studio's rental harps or use the Studio's Harp Resources to locate rentals or used harps at their leisure.
