Click on a picture of any room for a larger view of that room The second, private floor of Hartman House is no less luxurious and welcoming than the public areas of the home. Lord and Lady Hartman love entertaining overnight guests, and have many rooms prepared for just that purpose. The guest rooms are stocked with male and female dressing gowns in a variety of sizes, as well as a wide variety of toiletries and lady and gentlemen's "neccessaries" such as handkerchiefs, brushes and combs.
There are two baths available on the second floor for guests, and one in the private Master suite. Occasionally close friends who are also overnight guests at Hartman House are entertained in the private sitting room of the suite, but this is rare. Generally it is for the private pleasures and interludes of Lord and Lady Hartman. There is a secret compartment in the Master suite which looks out over the back of the house, and contains a staircase downstairs to an exit in the wall outside of the ballroom below. Additionally, there are many secret peepholes in the attic that look down into various second floor rooms, and narrow passages within the thicker walls, such as between the cream and the red room, for spying on guests. (Lord Richard is a somewhat paranoid host).
Two staircases reach the second floor from below, the main staircase which is centrally located, and the servant, or back staircase which is located in the rear of the house. In addition, there are stairs to the attic behind a door across from the cream guest room.
