Paul Burney JohnsonPaul Burney Johnson (1880-1943) was born in Hillsboro, Miss., on March 23, 1880. He was the father of Paul Burney Johnson, Jr. His political career started as State court judge in 1907; then he was U.S. Representative from the Mississippi 6th District from 1919-23 and Governor of Mississippi from 1940-43. Paul B. Johnson died on December 26, 1943 at the age of 63 and was interred at City Cemetery in Hattiesburg, Miss.
