Dear Editor:

It really upsets me as I have realized in the last two-and-half-years how thoroughly dirty the political system of this country is. A prime example is the on-going situation with the Republican Party doing all it can to discredit President Clinton while it supported a man who did as bad or worse.

It is difficult to stand the hypocrisy I see when political leaders decry their opposition to lying and so on while shoving under the rug the actions of one of their own for their own or party political gain.

It is intolerable so I write with the hope one day what I write will become published and perhaps cause others to believe as I do, that the entire political system needs revamped.

Anyway, a week or so ago, I wrote the following. I came across the picture of Gingrich someplace on the net and thought it rather reflective of my feelings concerning the necessity for political reform.

Sincerely,

Ed Lewis

If ever the man behind the face was revealed,

it is in this picture.

Take a good look, Ladies and Gentlemen. Take a good, long look.

This picture is quite possibly the most accurate reflection of Newt Gingrich’s attitude towards the American public you are likely to find.

And, why shouldn’t he look down his nose with contempt dripping out of his every pore?

He has gotten away with lying extensively, cheating, misusing? donated funds, illicit sexual activities, questionable campaign funding practices; in short, everything he accuses his opposition of doing.

Take another look. Is this man the type you would want to represent our nation to the world?

Does he have outstanding character, integrity, and a sense of morality above reproach?

I.e., is this the man that you would want as president should something happen to both President Clinton and Vice-President Gore?

I, for one, think not.
