"Impeachment fatigue" - Yeah, right...

The Senate took the last three days off because of ‘impeachment fatigue’. Sorry, but it wasn’t impeachment fatigue the Senate was suffering. - it’s ‘let’s get Bill Clinton fatigue’.

For several years now, this has been the goal of the Republican Party, nearly its sole goal regardless of the Hundred Day Plan or whatever they called their first one hundred days as the Congressional majority. It's not important, anyway, since "The Plan" was apparently abandoned in favor of the pursuit of Clinton.

And like we should have sympathy for them, anyway. They have bombarded Mr. Clinton (they and their media friends) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, for, what now, six years. And they are tired?? Guess that shows how strong Mr. Clinton really is since he has continued to do his job and has done it as well or better than any president in recent history.

No, it is not impeachment fatigue. Think about a professional football game. In an extremely tough game, you will notice the losing team appearing to be absolutely worn out from the beating they have taken.

But not so the winning team. They appear as if they could keep going, the excitement and energy is obvious. And they have played as hard, or harder, than the losing team.

If the Republican Party were winning in its vendetta to destroy Mr. Clinton, they would be full of energy and proceeded with gusto in the impeachment trial. But, they are losing and they are losing party support. Far too many people recognize the pursuit of Mr. Clinton for what it is - party politics. And it angers them as it is not why our legislators are elected to office.

All the party is doing now by projecting an end to it is keeping it in the news as long as possible. That is the only reason to call any witnesses. They can feed us all the attorney-type crap they want but that is all it is - crap.

It is nothing but political maneuvering the major political parties are infamous for. Republicans would rather not worry about taking care of business in favor of people's rights and will continue to ignore the will of the people.

And there is Clinton's popularity regardless of Republican-biased news reporting and negative print. Guess that is wearing them out, too, the fact that the majority continue supporting a man who has done as he said he would do.

As far as finding things that are done behind the scenes, you anti-Clintonites might do well to check in to recent presidents’ behind the scenes type actions, meaning Reagan and Bush.

They did far worse unless you consider infidelity a worse crime than advocating and supporting drug sells to the American population and those two have been honored. Reagan, after playing his biggest role, is having the Washington airport named after him and, Bush, one could suspect instrumental in the Contra cover-up, is having the CIA headquarters named after him.

Of course, it was a Republican majority that did it but, just the same, where was the wrath of the media, the same media that has jumped on President Clinton, when it was done in spite of evidence clearly linking Reagan and Bush to drug sales? Guess honoring men in the Republican Party took precedence over the facts.

What a turned-upside-down society we have, when such crimes are ignored while lying about a sexual affair is not. It also clearly shows how thoroughly screwed up anti-Clintonites’ sense of values are - and all in the support of the Republican Party, a party that could care less about the common person, a party which has had far worse offenses by its members in Congress made public, but otherwise ignored.

(By the way, where were all the media anti-Clintonites when the Republican Party leadership (Gingrich and his co-conspirators) killed any action in regards to political reform? Were you out to lunch or do you support the corrupted system that now dominates Washington, DC?)

Of course, for Americans such as myself who don’t believe in the two-party system (the other seven are not considered since they haven’t any power to change anything), the many months of Republican Party interference with the running of this nation supports the fact that major parties are a hindrance to creating an effective, non-corrupted governing body.

Woe be the day to party corruption and party politics when we number enough to force changes in our system, changes based on truth and integrity, on the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Watch for the fatigue then, when lie after lie is told by leading politicians trying to regain power.

And, I will assure you this - the day will come. The day will arrive when this is truly a nation ‘of the people, by the people, and for the people. It is as inevitable as the sun rising each day.
