Ten Commandments of the Modern Media

I once wrote the ten commandments that the clods we have in Washington, DC, live their political lives by. Not all live by these rules, I doubt, as there must be one or two who do have integrity.

Anyway, I was thinking of all the biased print and TV personalitites that exist, including the philosphies of the owners of the newspapers and networks. Surely, there must be Ten Commandments for them, too. I don’t know but I am going to find out. If I don’t get to ten, then I will rename this and sincerely apologize.

1. Ignore the truth except when it fits into the overall goal of duping the public and/or supporting whatever ridiculous contention held out to the public as the “Gospel Truth”.

2. Belittle any who attempt to get anything remotely resembling the truth into print or base what they state or write on facts, especially if the writings are contrary to the editor's/publisher's political/social/religious beliefs.

3. Refuse to publish articles as in number two.

4. Mislead people by publishing (whether written or stated) one-sided views without substance or factual foundation.

5. When conducting interviews, ask questions so that only one response may be forthcoming, the response in support of the writer’s/editor's contentions, of course.

6. Fire any employee who actually searches for and attempts to state the truth, especially when in opposition to media controlling factions.

7. Ignore the right of the people to have the truth and only the truth even while espousing this is a must for jounalists.

8. Allow all prejudices to show and, thus, mislead the people in the direction intended. Print or state anything as people are gullible and believe anything they read in newspapers or hear from newscasts on TV.

9. Ignore the Constitution of the United States of America and help those who control through power and money to control every iota of news put out to the people.

10. Above all else, remember people are not only gullible, but lazy, and are not likely to search out, nor demand, the truth for themselves.

Gosh, that was easier than I thought. Don't guess I will have to rename this as it fits most, but not all, mainstream publications and those controlling the airways.

It is, indeed, a sad state this nation is in.
