A lot of people apparently were fooled by the media’s treatment of Bush. That is, the hands-off his bad past actions and character treatment. Or, did the no-brainer of voting “Republican” or “Democrat” across the board rather than having to know anything.
Either way, America is in for a bad time because of it.
Here are statements from an English philosopher and political analyst, Dr. Sean Gabb which hits the nail fairly on the head.
“First, my American friends on the right will be disappointed. President Bush will betray them. The Constitution and Bill of Rights will not be more respected by the Republicans than they were by the Democrats. None of the semi-constitutional agencies that are the core of the Federal
Government will be shut down. None of them will probably be significantly cut back in their operations. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms will continue making life harder for gun owners. Civil asset forfeiture will not end. Juries will not be liberated from judicial control. The tax collecting
agencies will remain just as arbitrary and oppressive as ever.”
It is true very little mentioned by Dr. Gabb will change. In fact, it is most probable that the actions of the BATF and its attacks on innocent, law-abiding people will increase. It is also most probable that the IRS, since it and the BATF are one and the same, will also increase. The truth concerning these organizations will not matter one whit to illegal federal
infringement into the States - they will not diminish.
The US Government’s coercive overt attacks, seizures, threats at gun point, etcetera, on law abiding citizens have proved well the fact that this organization meant to defend the States and control commerce with foreign countries can pretty much do what
it wants, whether it is constitutional or not. What is lawful to them is only defined by the force used, not by the people of this nation of States.
An administration headed by an airhead such as Bush is not going to change this. In fact, the same huge money interests that got this person elected also control the actions of those coercing the people of this nation into complying with oppression and servitude to the government.
Remember the great Gingrich plan, the 100 Day deal? Whatever this felony convinced voters of, resulted in a Republican-controlled Congress. All those great, sweeping promises. Yeah, right, and Gingrich was a great America free of corruption and self interest.
Well, the 100 days came and went withoutany changes, then additional weeks, and eventual months that led into years.
And, still - no changes or promises were met.
That is the way it is with this bunch of people intending only on keeping their party in control. It matters not what the Constitution says - it matters only that their party remains in power so that it may profit the greatest.
It is that simple but the American people keep ignoring this and putting the same crooks back in office time-after-time. Or, some person such as Dubya who hasn’t a mind of his own and is completely controlled by huge money interests, including one of the very worst presidents ever, his own daddy.
It took over a year for people to realize the Republican promises were empty as always. And, yet, Congress retains its Republican majority. Makes me wonder just how much or little the American people actually listen or remember. Certainly, it clearly shows the reason this nation is one of pledging allegiance to the current federal government rather than the union of States.
Anyway, below are some of the concepts the Republican Party and media have passed on and flaunted in the faces of the American people, whether they be young or old.
First and foremost is the fact that they can put anyone in office they want regardless of his shoddy, law-breaking, philandering past or the party's breaking of any or all promises. All it takes is money and continuing control of the media.
Second. It is okay to have multiple sex partners outside of marriage. It matters not that it is against the majority’s value system (or is it - or has the exception become the norm?). Apparently, we in government set the value system and the people accept what we set. A vote for Bush was a vote for this.
Third. It is okay to use illegal drugs. That is, to qualify this, one must just have enough money and political backing to get away with it in the event of being caught or that some media person lets it slip that you have a heavy drug usage problem. It doesn’t even matter that law enforcement and/or the
judicial system destroyed records - your transgressions will be treated as “youthful indiscretions”. You will not be prosecuted or go to prison with
many who have lesser violations. Your money and your family’s power will assure it.
Fourth. If your family has enough money and political pull, it is okay to go into the military (under specific means of avoiding any direct military actions), show up only when you want, take a year off with pay, and so on. Don’t worry about the UCMJ or anyone getting on your case - political powerful friends will take care of the records for you.
Fifth. It is okay to lie if you appear to be remorseful or have regrets over lying. If you tell the lie enough times, you will begin to believe it yourself anyway and, thus, become even more convincing.
Sixth. It is okay if you impregnate women other than your wife and are involved in abortions of your unborn children. Reports are that Bush has been involved in at least two cases of helping women who were targets of his wanting sex outside of marriage getting abortions.
Seventh. Don’t worry about any DWI’s you might get. Don’t worry about all those you weren’t issued because law enforcement officers were afraid to treat you the same as the black or hispanic down the street, so to speak, from you. Your political friends will take care of any problems you might have.
Laws such as these are only for poor people, not we who are
quite wealthy. We may do as we want - it is our right.
Eighth. The media will shield you from public knowledge that you haven’t a solid thought of your own should you ever enter into politics. It doesn’t matter that you haven’t any convictions or values of a positive nature. The media will give them to you just as if they are your own and people will believe them -- and ignore those telling the truth.
Ninth. Don’t worry about telling lies while campaigning for office. Politics is a game of lying and the better you are at it, the higher you can go. As a matter of fact, the American public is so gullible that we can get you elected on a platform of honesty and integrity and it doesn’t matter at all that you
haven’t any.
Remember - The media controls. So, even though you are one of the worst liars and cheats to ever hold a public office, the people will believe us and think you are the most honest person ever to live in this country and definitely the one to hold the highest office in the land.
Tenth. Money buys offices. Money controls the media. Thus, sit back and let the media do its job. It will do a laundering service on you that will have you coming forth as a knight in shining armor rather than the sleaze bag you actually are.
An extremely poor political record will be spun into sounding as if you were the greatest thing ever to happen to your state although you never really did a thing except possibly decrease positive effects of programs all ready in effect.
You see, we can take any sow’s ear and turn it into a silk purse - at least, in the eyes of people who haven’t the sense to obtain the truth and make decisions based on truth, people who find it easier to believe the lies than have to react to the truth, and, of course, people who could care less about the overall picture and any affecting results on liberty.
That’s a bit of what the election of the year 2000 has taught, either consciously or subliminally. It also could teach those who do care that we haven’t the chance of a snowball in hell to change it. People are too ingrained into accepting the lies and cheating and still keeping the two major parties in power.
Close to a 100,000,000 people voted for the same corrupted
parties as always. It matters not that the Constitution has essentially been done away with by these parties, that what remains will soon be gone.
American apathy and lack of using votes properly to weed out those who are corrupt, will assure this.
This is - and will be - our fault.
