Let’s examine this thought. First, weapons are obtained with the intent of using them against fellow classmates, teachers, and any others who enter the field of fire.
Second, bombs are now being set in order to hurt or kill as many as possible in the shortest time possible.
Third, the act is pre-meditated murder which may or may not have a specific victim in mind. In other words, it is planned, indiscriminate killing carried out in order to make a statement, regardless of how inappropriate and anti-social the statement is.
Fourth, if the young person has the knowledge to obtain firearms, build bombs, pre-plan the operation and execute the plan, then that young person is NOT just a misguided youth who needs our sympathy; he is acting as an adult bent on killing.
So tell me - how are the people who carry out these acts in our public
schools any different from terrorists who indiscriminately kill innocent people by bombing office buildings - or airlines - or leave car bombs in congested areas - etcetera?
No, these young people are terrorists and must be treated as terrorists, be they 11 year olds or 17 year olds. Furthermore, any who are caught planning a shooting or bombing
must be treated as terrorists with the same punishments. And perhaps those who had knowledge of the acts beforehand should be tried as accomplices.
The way I see it, if a person, whether eight or eighty, knows a gun will kill, if he intentionally points it at another human being and pulls the trigger, his intent is to kill. He knows what he is doing just as I did when I shot my first squirrel and rabbit at age nine.
So, let us weep only, Ladies and Gentlemen, for the innocent, defenseless victims of these despicable, violent protestors who have turned to carnage to express themselves.
