Hawaii - The Big Island
Part Three:  Waimea

Rainbow Falls

Sunday morning, we leave the hotel around 9am starting on our next journey. We didn't take us long before our next stop, which was another Lava Tube. The name escapes me, but it was not as nice as the one in Volcano National Park. It was also raining during this time which made things kind of gloomy. Still, I went into the tube to look around; then afterwards (and getting wet), we hoped back into the car for the next stop.

Next was Rainbow Falls (Kaluakauka), where on a normal day you can see big beautiful rainbows form above it. But it was raining, so no rainbows today. It was still a very nice waterfall and would have been something if I saw it during nicer weather. After another quick stop in the rain, we finally moved on and finally out of Hilo, heading towards Akaka Falls.

But we soon stopped again, this time near a botanical garden. We weren't so much to see the garden, but more it's surroundings which was gorgeous. The ceased raining at this point, which was good, and gave us a chance to walk around to soak-up nature. After communing with nature a little bit, we were finally on our way to Akaka Falls.
