SONNET
by Hazel Glenda C. Guerrero

I
Like the moon way up in the blue sky,
You give wonder and left me with a sigh,
For not showing how much you really care
With thy fainting light, it seems a nightmare
As quick as the lightning, that should be me
Else I'll remain glued in that old oak tree
Waiting for lost hope with your dim lighting
As lights struck me then, I was yielding.
Just like the moon you brighten up my night
Guiding my way with thy unfading light
Howbeit, there are times I feel confuse
Is it because your light tends to diffuse?
Do tell me now and show how much you care
It's not yet too late, this time you must dare.

II
Time is precious like gold, that we must know
Waste it not and lost not the good days glow
For if we do, everything will just fade
Dear things will go, like the glittering jade.
Do always protect and keep me secure
With thy loving arms I sleep in lure
Without any fear of gruesome creatures
Nor any beast with ghastly features.
Thy love is deep like the serene ocean
Its depth unknown filled with true devotion.
Yet until now, it remain unfathomed
As years go by, until I reach my tomb.
Now is the time, to you I bade adieu,
But forget not, it's you, I love so true.
