Al & the Transamericans - The "Tour de Force" of all Al side projects. The Transamericans mix roots rock with Country influence. This band originally had a completly different line up than it's current appearance. The Original line up featured Jim Loughlin (moe),Kirk Juhas (freebeer&chicken), Reid (strangefolk), Ted Marotta (Ominous Seapods) & Rolf Witt (Sonic Garden). Reid's tenure was short lived & Ted was replaced in summer 2000 by Vinnie Amico (moe.) Gordon Stone & Eric Glockler joined the band in Spring 2002 & a debut studio album are in the works.

All Thumbs Trio - In the wake of Moe.Down 2001, the All Thumbs Trio was formed. The Acoustic band consists of Johnny Hickman (cracker), Gibb Droll (Gibb Droll Band) and Chuck Garvey (Moe).

Al.One - Al Schnier & Mitch Getch, exploring the techno-tronic sounds of psychedelia.

Alvis - A delectable Elvis tribute band gathered to celebrate the "King's" 68th Birthday on 1/8/03 at Savannah's in Albany. The group consists of Al Schnier (Bass/Vocals) & Vinnie Amico (Drums) along with Cathy & Kristin Henderson (Guitars/Vocals) of Anitgone Rising & Shannon Lynch (Sax/Vocals) of Conehead Buddha. The group had not practiced together until the day of the show. Remarkable vocal melodies with very tight sounding classics jammed into the unknown.

FALL - Jim finally gets his own band!

Ha Ha the Moose-Power Rock trio named by Rob Derhak's son and "fueled by Canadian Whiskey". These hooded mexican wrestling stars turned rockers play old school moe. favorites and a number of covers, most notably Black Sabbath's "The Wizard" an excellent cover. The band made huge controversy by taking a page out of GNR's book, by cancelling their moe.down 2003 plans last minute. This led to huge riots erupting in the small New York town of Turin.

Merry Danksters- An all star acoustic outfit, whose name was a tribute to Kesey's "Merry Pranksters". The band Featured Chuck Garvey & Al Schnier of moe, with friends Peter Prince (Moon Boot Lover), Gibb Droll (Gibb Droll Band) TP & Max (Ominous Seapods) and David Gans. The Danksters have not toured since 1998.

rob. & al. - Due to Rob's heightened fear of flights in 2001, he & Al set out on the road after moe. Fall Tour. They drove from the south towards the Great Northeast playing gigs at clubs while they headed for home. Accompanied by "Dr. Drums" (an electronic drum machine) the group played moe. tunes & rarities & material that would never join the moe. catalog.

Shark Sandwich - an Ominous Seapods side project that regularly featured Al & Vinnie.

Small Appliance- Jim Loughlin & Vinnie Amico's funky band featuring Chris Noel & members of & Yolk.

Sugar Porn Cops- A funky/jazzy band fronted by Fuzz (Deep Bananna Blackout), featuring Vinnie Amico on drums and Brian Mangini (Ominous Seapods) On keys.

Swamp Donkey- Rob playing with Reid Genauer's backing band (the Assembly of Dust) during Winter break '03, Monday nights @ the Ale House in Portland, ME. The group performs the occasional show (featuring many covers) & are scheduled to appear @ Moe.down 2003.

Willie Waldman Project -a Trumpet player that Chuck & Vinnie have played with on some tours.
