8. The Foyer Tale

But happy as I am in my heaven, my feet yearn to touch the ground once again. So, leaving my high and happy ego (or is it my shadow) behind, I come back down to earth where I befriend a Beast.

"I'm cold," says the Beast. "I need a fireplace. A fireplace will keep me nice and warm. And it will also create a romantic atmosphere."

I think to myself, "That's true." So I get some bricks and some mortar and construct a fireplace.

"Now I need a house," says the Beast, "to go with my fireplace."

I think, "That makes sense." So I get some lumber and put up the framework of a house.

"I need a roof on my house," says the Beast, "and some solid walls with glass windows to protect me when the rains fall and the winds blow."

I think, "That sounds reasonable."

"And you'll have to add a foyer," says the Beast, "so that my tail will not get cold."

"Yes, of course," I say. "It is evident that a foyer will be required." And I think to myself, "When the walls and the roof are completed, and the foyer is added on, I shall make a fire in the fireplace - then my Beast will be happy and content."

Night falls. And being dead tired after putting in an honest day's work, I crawl into my sleeping bag. Soon I am sound asleep.

"Hmpf!" says the Beast, "I'm hungry."
