A former Warren County school bus driver has been sentenced to
six years in prision for sexually assaulting a juvenile.
Thomas J. Boedker, of Warrenton, was sentenced on Nov. 1 by Associate
Circuit Judge Randall Puchta. He had pleaded guilty to two counts of
deviant sexual assault on July 28.
Boedker, a former Little League baseball coach, was sentenced to six
years for each count, but the sentences will be served concurrently.
Deviant sexual assault is a class C felony in Missouri, punishable by
a maximum of seven years in prision and a $5,000 fine for each count.
Boedker, 37, has been transferred to the Fulton Reception and Diagnostic
Center, where he will be evaluated to determine in which correctional
facility he will serve his sentence. He had been free on bond since being
charged with the crimes.
While in prision, Boedker will participate in
the Missouri Sex Offender Program, a requirement of his sentence. Boedker
will participate in the program for at least one year.
Boedker assaulted a juvenile in May 1992 and on July 2, 1992. He was charged
with the crimes on July 8, 1992. A change in judges presiding over the
case caused a delay in Boedker's guilty plea and sentencing.
Boedker
had worked for the Warren County R-3 School District as a bus driver, but
Superintendent James Dishman said Boedker had stopped working for the
district before he was charged with the crimes.
