Harry W. Wells

  Harry W. Wells, 84, of Parkview Nursing Home, Parkersburg, died Tuesday at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
 Wells was a homebuilder, had worked for Bennett & Dobbins for several years, and was a member of KAnawha Baptist Church.
 He was born in Jackson County, a son of the late Jess D. and Minnie Gilpin Wells.
 He is survived by two sons, Harry Avery Wells of Parkersburg and Thurman (sic) Wells of Sandyville; two daughters, Jean McVey of Palestine and Pauline Murphy of Vienna; a stepson, Howard Hamerick Sr. of Little Hocking; two sisters, Alice W. Allen of Washington and Marie W. Galligher of Fairfax, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and 13 stepgreat-grandchildren.
 He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Mae Joy Wells, in 1898; two sons; a brother adn a stepgreat-grandson.
 The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, at Franklin Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Charlene Spaur officiating.  Burial will be in Evergree North Cemetery.
 Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 7-9 p.m. today.

 A pretty wedding was solemnized at the home of Mrs. Val Hammond, Friday, May 12, when Miss Mildred Joy of Flint Run became the bride of Dale Fluharty of Wierton, W. Va.  Rev. A. F. Monroe performed the ceremony.
 The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Joy of Flint Run and Mr. Fluharty is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Fluharty of Wilson Fork.  The young couple will reside in Wierton where the bridegroom has employment.

Fluharty, Mildred C., 72, died Sunday, May 19, 1985.  Survived by husband, Dale Fluharty of Tucson; daughters, Mary Aubrey of Sierra Vista, AZ and Shirley Robinson of Waterloo, NY; sons, Gary Fluharty of Sierra Vista, AZ and Larry Fluharty of Wedgefield, SC; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; four sisters, Leona, Myrtle, Ella and Ina; four brothers, George, Thomas, Arthur and Cecil, all living in other states.  Funeral services 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, at the First Church of the Nazarene (1333 E. 10th St.), with the Reverend  B. Edwin McDonald and Reverend James F. Cullember officiating.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Arizona Mortuary, 7 E. University Blvd., from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.  Rememberences may be made to a memorial fund at the First Church of the Nazarene.

Robert was born 2 08 Oct 1907 in Elizabeth, Wirt Co., West Virginia. He died 3 03 Mar 1993 in Sierra Vista, Cochise Co., Arizona and was buried in Tucson, Pima Co., Arizona.

Donald Lewis Fluharty son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Fluharty was born March 17, 1934, departed this life Nov. 11, 1934, aged 7 months, 25 days.  He leaves to mourn their loss father and mother, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Joy, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Fluharty, and a number of aunts and uncles and other relatives and friends.  Funeral was conducted from Pine Twist Church at 2 p.m. Nov 13 by Rev. A. F. Monroe.  Interment in church cemetery with undertaker Pomroy in charge.

 Survivors include three sons, Jack E. Joy of Washington, Ralph D. Joy of Ambridge, Pa., and James A. Joy of Wyandot, Mich.; three brothers, Arthur Joy of Parkersburg, Cecil Joy of Lubeck and Thomas Joy of Brooksville, Fla.,; and three sisters, Ella Rosella of Culloden, Myrtle Younglove of Tampa, Fla., and Ina Harmsworth of Fairfield, Calif.

Mark Douglas Joy

  Mark Douglas Joy, 3-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas N. Joy, Rt. 2, City, died at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, after a long illness.  The child was born June 17, 1957.  The mother was the former Kathryn Whytsell.
 Survivors, in addition to the parents are: three sisters, Martha, Jean and Mary Joy, all at home; three brothers, Thomas, Roger and Norman Joy, all at home; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Joy, Rt. 2, City, and Mrs. Laua Whytsell of Rocksdale.
 Private funeral services will be conducted fromthe chapel of the Pomroy Funeral Home, City, at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Paul Higgins of Rockport officiating.  Interment will follow in the Pine Twist Cemetery.

Mr. Avery Edward Nutter, 59, of 2205 Oak St, Culloden, W. Va., went home to be with his Lord, Monday, Feb. 9, 1981, in Charleston General Hospital after a long illness.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, by minister Rush Egnor.  Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park near Milton.  He was born Feb. 28, 1921, at Elizabeth, W. Va., a son of the late Ralph and Dolly Jones Nutter.  He was a retired employee of Union Carbide at Institute, W. Va., and a member of the Culloden Church of Christ.  Survivors include his wife, Rosella Joy Nutter; four daughters, Mrs. Rosalie Thomas, Mrs. Veda Freeman, Mrs. Sharon Cart and Mrs. Sue Bennett,  all of Hurricane, W. Avery E. Nutter Rites Yesterday

  Avery Edward Nutter, age 59, of 2205 Oak St, Culloden, W. Va., died Monday, Feb. 9, at Charleston General Hospital.  He had been critically injured in a truck accident in Jackson County several years ago, from which he had only partially recovered.
 Mr. Nutter was born in the Grieves Run section of Wirt County, Route 3, Elizabeth, a son of the late Ralph and Dolly Jones Nutter.
 A very pleasant and good man, he was a retired employee of Union Carbide at Institute, and a member of the Culloden Church of Christ.
 Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rosella Joy Nutter; four daughters, Mrs. Rosalie Thomas, Mrs. Veda Freeman, Mrs. Sharon Cart and Mrs. Sue Bennett, all of Hurricane; a brother, Denver Nutter of Culloden; and nine grandchildren.
 Services were conducted at 2 p.m. yesterday (Wednesday) at the Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with Minister Rush Egnor officiating, and burial was in the Forest Memorial Park near Milton.
