LION
Member since 1970 |
With 29 years membership in Hinsdale Lions Club, 28 of them perfect attendance, Lionism is my favorite outside interest. The club was chartered in 1969 and its current membership is 29.
In its 30 years of service, the club has evolved into a community resource. We have no major service project, rather, many other local organizations are recipients of of our support. Our three major fund raisers are a July 3rd "Night Before the Fourth" lawn party with games and fireworks, an October tag sale, and a Mothers’ Day pancake breakfast featuring genuine New Hampshire maple syrup. |
In the club I served as secretary for several years, was club president, or "King Lion," in 1974-75, and am currently a club director. At our 1998 district convention I was honored by the club by being presented with a Melvin Jones Fellowship, named to commemorate the founder of International Lionism.
At the district level, I was Zone Chairman during 1977-78 and most recently have been district and multiple district Extension Chairman. When the Internet came along, Lion Norm Roberge, Epsom-Chichester Lions Club, and I organized LionNet New Hampshire, a network of web pages for every Lions Club in New Hampshire and which also includes pages for the Multiple District, the two sub-Districts, and several of the statewide Lions projects in New Hampshire. Lion Norm and I are co-Nodemasters for New Hampshire in the worldwide LionNet. Please visit these Lions-related links: Eclectic Home Page |
