On July 11, 1998 I was back in Cleveland, Ohio, where I graduated from West Tech High School in 1973, for our 25th Reunion. I put together a reunion page, click below on the Warrior icon to be transported to the Class of '73.
I am a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns. On March 24, 1998 Cleveland was awarded an expansion team that restored one of football's signature franchises to a loyal city once known as Browns Town. The Browns returned to the AFC Central, playing their first exhibition game against Dallas in the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio. Their new stadium was built on the same site as old Cleveland Stadium, which was torn down after the move. The $247 million, 72,000-seat stadium even features a replica of that famous section in the Cleveland Stadium end zone known as the Dawg Pound.
I am also a fan of the Cleveland Indians, 1995 and 1997 American League Champions.
GO TRIBE!
The University of Kentucky Wildcats celebrated their 7th National Championship in basketball in March of 1998 with a come-from-behind 78-69 win over Utah in the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship!
I recently received a very flattering letter from someone named Suzi in North Carolina. She is a '73 high school graduate, like me, though her school was in California. She found this page on a search using the word "friend", and I want to share a portion of that letter with you.
"You must certainly recall those wonderful and wacky days of our teen years during those wild 70's! Do you also remember one of the greatest writings reborn during those times: Desiderata? If so, you would do all us Baby Boomers and 70's kids an honor by including its profound words on another page of your "Words of Wisdom." I wish I still had my wall poster with those words engraved. Rather, I have it tacked to my office at home on a posterboard which I reprinted from the internet. I have to stop daily and read the words that move me so deeply. In any event, good luck with future writings and endeavors, and additions to your home pages. Thanks for sharing some wonderful thoughts with us other web surfers."
Thank you Suzi. The words of the Desiderata were and still are very powerful, and it did have a strong resurgence during the '70's, so for Suzi, and because it is something worth sharing with everyone, here is Desiderata.
I'll be adding all kinds of things here, pictures, links, and who knows what. More to come!! Hope you enjoy your visit! Thanks to all who have signed my guestbook or sent me e-mail. Come back again and see what else happens here.
