WHAT'S NEW?

7/9/98 Once again I have not posted in a really long time - sorry! I am currently in week 31 of the pregnancy, exactly where Nicholas was born. I am still working, my doctor has let me continue up to now. I have a doctor appt today and we are all holding our breath making sure that nothing happens yet! Other than that - nothing much else to tell. Nicholas is doing great - talking up a storm in Spanish and English, going to the potty lots and just an overall great little boy! I will update more after my doctor appt!
6/5/98 I know, I have been horrible about keeping up with the news..I am at 26 weeks of the pregnancy (6 months) and had a doctor appointment yesterday. Everything is going well. I am allowed to work around one week longer than expected so that is good. Hopefully all continues to go well. I am getting bigger by the day - but don't expect pictures of me!!!! Nicholas is doing well - actually peeing in the potty when he feels like it!! What a big boy. He still isn't thrilled about having a baby sister - he continues to say "don't like baby" and "close it" when we are looking at my tummy. Oh well....
4/22/98 Well - IT'S A GIRL!!!! The ultrasound yesterday confirmed it!!! We are very excited (and slightly shocked since we were convinced it was another boy!!!) I will try to scan some not so good ultrasound pictures this week - so stay tuned!!! Otherwise - everything is going fairly well - no problems with this pregnancy as of yet (cross fingers) so we will just see what progresses!
3/27/98 Well - Nicholas is 2!! He turned two on Monday and is having a little party this weekend. If you ask him how old he is he says "two minutes". No one really understands where he got the minutes idea from, but at least he got the two right! Everything is fine with the baby to be - heard the heartbeat yesterday and scheduled an ultrasound for one month from now so maybe we will get to see what it is (if he/she cooperates!) That is all for now!
3/10/98 Okay - so I have not posted again - SORRY!! Anyway - the most exciting of the news is that Nicholas will be getting a baby brother or sister in September!!! Yep - we thought we were gonna wait until he was at least 3 but I guess Mother Nature had other plans! We are very excited and will post ultrasound pictures soon! So - how's that for big news!!!???? Other than that, Nicholas was very sick with a bad cold and, you guessed it, Croup again. He also got a bad stomach bug. So he is on the mend now, but we were shocked that he still got the Croup
2/17/98 Once again I have not posted in a while - sorry - just really busy around here. Nicholas is doing great - had a little flu - but he is fine. He is talking so much but the hilarious part is it is in Spanish and English since his nanny, Gladis, talks to him in Spanish. So for the first time last night, mommy had to call GRANDPA to translate what Nicholas was asking for since it was in Spanish!!! It is very cute. Sean and I got to go to Las Vegas this weekend for one night which was a lot of fun and relaxing. Nicholas stayed the night with Grandma and Grandpa and had a lot of fun. Next on the agenda is Nicholas turning two on March 23rd. We can't believe how fast time has flown. I will try to post soon!
1/16/98 Sorry for not updating news in a while - it has been pretty sad around here. Our beloved Uncle Artie, Stephanie's mother's uncle, but like a grandfather to Stephanie and her sisters, passed away on Wednesday, January 14. Nothing more can be said right now - just So long for now Uncle Artie; we love you and will miss you so much. :(
1/7/98 Happy new year everyone! Nick is over his Croup - so that is done with and we are much happier. Not much news to speak of otherwise - same old stuff...so keep checking back for more news.
12/30/97 To start - the news for today is a big Happy Anniversary to Stephanie's parents, 41 years today!!! As for the news on Nick - it isn't very good. Nick and his mommy caught a nasty cold and although we thought Nick was over the days of the Croup - he has it this time. Needless to say - it is very stressful in our house. But the holidays were good, Nick got many toys and books and computer programs so I am sure he is thrilled. He has really been doing well in the big bed also - so things are looking up. Here is hoping that his Croup doesn't get too serious. Hope everyone had a great holiday and I am sure we are looking forward to the new year!!!
12/22/97 Well - Nicholas got his big boy bed. He loves it and walks around calling it "Big Bed". The only thing - one or both of us have to be in bed with him (yes, a twin size) to get him to sleep. So needless to say - it is very interesting. But he is doing well. Sean's dad comes in today from Pensacola and the festivities begin!!! Tomorrow night we go to Stephanie's parents house for the first night of Hanukah and Nicholas can taste Latkes!! Hope everyone has a great holiday week!
12/17/97 Okay - it has been a while since I updated the news....Nicholas didn't really drive his mom too crazy while Sean was in Florida - just a little crazy. We have ordered him a "big boy" car bed so we will see if that helps to get him to sleep in his bed...Other than that - he is talking so much and is pretty wild. He started a Saturday morning class at "Joey's Gym" which is really great because he has not been able to do this before since the doctors didn't want him around other children. The kids are all his age and he has so much fun there. Sean had a great time in Florida - he golfed with his Dad, went to the wedding at a beautiful 25,000 square foot house and just relaxed a bit. So - that is all the news for now!
12/01/97 Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! We did - we had it at Auntie Linda's house and the food was great and it was pretty relaxing. We spent the weekend shopping a lot trying to get holiday gifts out of the way. Nick is driving his mom and dad crazy with his lack of sleep and having to sleep in our bed. Something has to give. Nick was very excited this morning because he hasn't seen his physical therapist, Debbie, in two weeks since she was in Egypt...so he got very excited when he learned this morning that she was coming today! Other than that - Sean is getting prepared for his "mini" trip to Pensacola on December 11 to go to an old friend's wedding and to see his dad. That should be fun for him - we will see if Nicholas drives mommy crazy for those 4 days......
11/25/97 Nick is getting over another cold and (knock on wood) this is the second one that he has gotten without getting Croup!!!!! We are crossing our fingers that this means he may be on the road to great health and just being able to be around kids more!
11/24/97 So I am a little late in getting the pictures of Kylie on here, but FINALLY they are here - at the "Family Photo Gallery". I have also made some changes to the site so things may seem a little different.
11/17/97 Well aside from Baby Nick throwing a REAL HARD golfball at his mommy's eyebrow and giving her a large lump and 2 day headache, it was BABYFEST this weekend! We had Cameron, Auntie Karen's baby, here from Monterey, and Kylie was home (Auntie Linda's baby)!!! It was lots of fun except Nick wasn't too happy whenever someone he loved was holding a baby....New pictures will be here tomorrow - I promise I will scan tonight!
11/12/97 THEY ARE COMING HOME!!!! Yes after this long ordeal in Arizona, Linda and Mike are finally bringing home baby Kylie today. We are all looking forward to seeing all of them and welcoming Kylie!!!! Pictures soon, we promise!!
11/11/97 On Saturday, 11/8, KYLIE MAKANA HERNANDEZ was born!!! This is our newest addition, the baby girl that Baby Nick's Aunt Linda and Uncle Mike adopted! She was 7 lbs 15 oz, 19 inches long and pictures will be coming soon!! We are so excited to welcome her home - she is in Arizona with her mommy and daddy and they could be home as early as today!!! Congrats to them!
11/3/97 On Sunday, 11/2, Nicholas and Mommy went to the Santa Monica/UCLA Hospital NICU reunion. We had a great time and even got interviewed for the Santa Monica Evening Outlook newspaper. The article was in the Monday edition and it is all very exciting (since this is the second publication that has interviewed us!)
