Personally, I feel an inmate should tell their pen-pal themselves what they did to end up in prison. Mine told me in her second letter, not all will. Some may never want to tell, or even lie from the guilt or shame. Does it really matter? Because of my silly fears, all I cared about with my friend, is that she didn't kill anyone. That would have been harder for me to deal with, although I still think I would have made the same effort.
