Introduction

This site  includes an editorial description of the Waggy/Wagy family, documents that were acquired while researching the family, a section of unresolved questions, and  photo copies of land grants, census listings and marriage listings, family photos, a bibliography and the family tree.  With so many resources and Waggy information to share among so many people, it got to be cheeper to put it all the web.

The editorial part  tries to explain when possible where the information has come from and in cases where assumptions are made, what was the information that contrived these assumptions. In many cases this was the most fun, the sleuthing required is right up there with Holmes and Watson.   Documents often conflicted and dates were needed to resolve some conflicts when possible. This is why there’s a section of unresolved questions. Most all the conflicts could not be resolved and will need others help in clearing up. The appendages that list land grants, census by counties, marriages etc. may seem redundant but are included to give credit to the editorial part of the paper and some of the assumptions made.  They're also fun to look at.

The bibliography is unusual because of the variation of types of sources the information has been acquired over the years.  Some books referred to are from older research done by previous Waggys and may be out of print  while other sources are from periodicals, The Virginia Library’s new genealogy department and the internet. The internet has been a wealth of genealogical information.

This site is from a paper I have put together from many various sources, if you would like a copy of the Waggy family tree in paper form just email me.   The paper form is reserved for Waggy family members only.
