Easton German Reform Cemetery

The German Reformed Cemetery was located at 5th and Church Sts. in Easton. I 1902, the Easton Area Public Library as built on this site. If there were living relatives, the bodies were moved to other locations; However, some remained there and were put in a large vault.

In command of Fort Wyoming Expedition (1771). Deputy to Provincial Convention, Justice and Judge of Elections (1774. Com. of Safety, Deputy and Member of Colonial Assembly, Captain of Easton Co, and Colonel of 1st Batt (1775. Lt. Colonel at Battle of Long Island(1776), County Lieutenant (1780), Judge of Court of Common Pleas (1787, Mem. 1st Constitutional Convention of Penna, and First Chief Magistrate of Easton (1789) Col. The parish register at Kirchheim (Kircheimbolanden)gives the date of birth of Col. Kachlein, 8 Nov. 1722. His father, Johann-Andreas, was born at Listal, in Switzerland, Feb. 1680, d. at Kirchheim, 23 Sept, 1722 His mother was Anna-Margaretha Hahn of Heppenheim bei Alzey. The remains of Col. Kachlein, and his two wives will shortly be removed to the Easton Cemetery
