Oscar Glenn was my Grandfather, Carl resided in Grafton WV, Leonard in Bradenton FL, Charles in Zanesville OH, Harold in Grafton WV. Daughters were Minnie, Ruth. Hello- I am Roger Kirkpatrick, grandson of Emery Kirkpatrick of Sistersville/Middlebourne, WV. My grandfather and his brother, Oscar, were placed/abandoned in the Tyler County Home in the late 1800's by their mother. There is no oral nor written record of the ather or mother to my knowledge. I have been trying to confirm names and particulars regarding the family tree/history. My grandfather, Emery, worked for/lived with the Hickmans of Middlebourne and Pleasant Ridge in his late teens when he could leave th County Home. He then married one Sarah Hickman. Their three children were William, Fay, and Thurman, now all deceased. After his first wife, Sarah, passed, Emery married Pearl Carter of Cowhouse Road (somewhere near Sistersville). Emery expired late all of 1952 and is buried at Polly Archer Chapel Cemetery. Sarah Hickman Kirkpatrick is also buried there. My grandmother, Pearl, expired Dec. 1974 and is also buried in the Archer Cemetery. The five sons born to Emery and Pearl = Remus and Joseph (twi s), Layman and Loman (twins), and Russell. Remus is my father. Layman passed away in August of 1999. All the remaining family lives in or near Canton, Ohio, where they all went to work in the early 50's. Their son Edwin Garrett Smith was b. 1850, and since his middle name is Garrett, I believe that Nancy's mother or grandmother probably was a Garrett. I am looking to find some information about my g-grandfather John Kirkpatrick b. 1869 d. 1955. He was raised in Nothern Ireland on a farm by two maiden anuts after his parents died in a horse carriage incident. He apparently came to North America in ~189 (age 21) but I do not know his port of entry. He married Maria Elizabeth Harris around 1904-1906 in Montreal and they bore 3 children (John Harris, Wallace Caldwell, and Patrica Marion Kirkpatrick). The period from ~1890 to 1903 is not accounted for and e may have come up through the U.S. (poss. Philadelphia or NY). He and his family lived in the southern Ontario area for most of his life with his brother Wally living in Montreal. If anyone has any information I about John I would like to here from you. Hugh Kirkpatrick, son of John/James Kirkpatrick lived at 125 Albert Terrace, Holywood (Belfast) at the time of his marriage to Mary Magee(McGee)at the Mt. Pottinger Methodist Church in 1880 approx. His first daughter died, then a son David was born and w en D. was 14 months old Hugh and Mary migrated to Australia in 1884. Another girl died young, but second son George lived to serve in first World War, being awarded a Military Medal before being killed in France and recommended for a posthumous Victoria ross. After George's birth in Armidale, NSW, Hugh disappeared from the family. His death is not recorded in Australia. There are no records of immigrants returning to Ireland to help me. Does anyone know anything about Hugh's Irish antecedants? His m ther's name is unknown.

My GGGGrandfather George Kirkpatrick emigrated from Alston,Cumberland,England in 1849 together with is wife Sarah Stephenson and several children including Francis(F),John and George Jr. and his wife Jane. They came here under the name Patrick but returne to Kirkpatrick shortly after coming to Shullsburg, Lafayette, Wisconsin. George and Sarah owned land which seems to have been 'acquired' from them upon Georges's death from the person who wrote his will for him. I find Sarah in the 1860 census with an An ie Kirkpatrick who I believe to be the sister of my GGrandfather George Edmund Kirkpatrick. His father George Kirkpatrick (Jr.) volunteered in the 33rd Wis Regiment, Co "C" and was invalided out after being invalided by phythysis? Which was probably cause by his work as a lead miner both in England and WI. Geo died shortly, his wife Jane d probably at Annie birth and George Edmund Kirkpatrick was raised in the soldiers orphanage in Madison,WI. He never knew he had a sister and always thought his father ha come to this country as a widower. Not so. Atleast 6 children came with BOTH of his parents. A brother John went to So or No Dakota but was badly injured by a minie ball in his hip in the Civil War. I have much of the six generations of Kirkpatricks wh lived in Alston, England. Other family names there were Emerson, Sparks, Setree and Rawlins. Will happily share this information and hope there is someone out there looking for these Kirks.
