My husband was Felix Francis McGarty, b.Aug.14, 1913, d. July 23, 1966. He was the middle son of Peter McGarty. Bernard and Joseph were the brothers. I'm just beginning to search this family and your info is great. Have you done any research in Irelan ? We've got some details of the history of the Concannon family, that were researched by Queens University in Belfast in the early 1980s from old church records - they go back as far as 1067 - and end when Cromwell sacked the monasteries i Ireland during the 1600s. At first I was looking for the information on just the city, but when I took a look at your cite I saw my grandparents' names on your list. My grandmother is Frances Veronica Heinrich and my grandfather is Patrick James Halloran. They had 10 children, 27 randchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Patrick has passed away but Frances is still alive, she lives in New Jersey. I live in the Bronx but the rest of the family is spread out across the country. I am originally from Bryson City, NC but my father's family was from Old Fort NC. Grandfather is John Thomas Sandlin, married Kate Monroe Hyams. John had one sister who died at in her teens. Hi! As you can see, my surname fits well into your family names, but i'm not sure you are "related!" Must say we must all be related somewhere back in the distant ages... My Concannon family knowledge is very limited. My father, Coleman, was born in Norwood-MA on June 8, 1914. He was the son of Matthew Concannon, born in Galway Ireland (date unkown) and Helen (also called Ellen, Nellie, & Sallie in the records) Conroy Con annon, who also came from Galway. My grandfather Concannon (Matthew) had parents named John & Mary Norton Concannon. While I know they came from Ireland, I can only assume it was Galway. My grandmother Concannon (Helen-the name shown on her death record) had parents Coleman Conry & Mary C nley. Well, if this looks like anything in your info, could you please pass it along? By the way, did any of your Concannon connections get a letter from a Maureen Concannon, a doctor in Dublin who was announcing a family reunion & touting a book on the Concannon Family.
