Descendent of Andrew J Swyers

My Swyers' appear in Ross Co, OH near Chillicothe early in the 1810's. Although I suspect several families may have moved to the area I cannot confirm a relationship. My Relative Andrew J Swyers married Isabella Darby in 1849. Their children lived in and around Chillicothe for a generation moving on to other parts of OH in the next generation. Andrew's son, James L Swyers married Maggie (Sarah Margaret) Ewing. They both taught school in the Ross Co area. One of their sons, James Strader Swyers moved to Salt Lake City and started one of the first airports in the city. My ancestor, Bess (Elizabeth Gertrude) Swyers married John O Evans, an Ohio 6th calvary Civil War Veteran, and lived in Jackson, OH.

I know of no relation to the next Swyers, but with the unusual name I suspect they are related. One elder Swyers that appears in Ross Co. is Daniel Swyers, a Revolutionary War Veteran and a soldier in the War of 1812. Daniel first lived in Warren Co. Later he moved to Ross Co, and lived with a Jonathan Swyers. Daniel is listed as receiving a pension from his service in the war of 1812.

Another Swyers that appears in an early census is George Swyers. George participated in the War of 1812.

We also find descendants of Abraham Swyers in Bainbridge, Ross Co, OH. This part of the family moves to Missouri in the mid 1800's.

Possible leads on this family include the Swyers family around Rochester. Their knowledge says several Swyers (Schweier) brothers moved to the US from Germany. While several of the brothers settled in Rochester, one brother moved to Canada (many Swyers in Nova Scotia area) and the other to Ohio.

Could there have been two brothers move to Ohio or a brother and a cousin? Or perhaps they immigrated to America with the persecuted Schwenkfelder Society (a religious society from Germany that fled with the assistance of William Penn), several Swyers show up in their records.
