Ah, but just because the trip was over didn't mean our summer fun was finished. John had a birthday a few days after our return, and we just had to celebrate in style! First of course, he had to have a special cake with candles (I had great difficulty trying to get them to all fit on the cake....and he did NOT blow them all out!) John and cake

Well, considering I'd bought the beanies in Missouri and kept them secret the entire trip back, it probably was a shock...that I could keep it quiet for that long! When I think about it, it is pretty amazing! And so ends the tale of our Summer of '98. I hope yours was just as entertaining...but I hope it wasn't as exhausting. John and beanies
