Dr. and Mrs. William and Martha Sears' ministry crosses denominational boundaries, and they are highly respected by both Christians and non-Christians alike.
As for their personal beliefs, they grew up Catholic. In fact, Dr. Sears was at one time in training for the priesthood. God led him in another direction, and he and his wife now have eight children. They have been part of several evangelical congregations in California and elsewhere and currently are members of Capistrano Valley Baptist Church.
Their Christian books have been published by Thomas Nelson, David C. Cook, and Broadman & Holman (the Southern Baptist publishing arm). Dr. Sears also authored a column for *Christian Parenting Today* magazine for several years.
