This page is about me.
My name is Bernadette. I'm a single mom with 3 kids.
Erin-Lee is 14, Meaghan is 12 and Kevin is 10.
They truly light up my life!
We also have two adorable cats. Joy is a mute tabbie and Tia is a calico.

Being a single mom is not an easy job.
I'm very lucky that they are good kids and rarely give me any problems.
They are good students and seem to really enjoy learning and have high hopes for the future. They are very much individuals and are all so wonderful that I could spend pages and pages talking about them! They are each working on their own homepages. Music has always been a part of my life. When I was in my 20's I played clarinet in several bands and orchestras. I loved it! I also taught piano for a while and I play guitar just for fun. When I started my family I had already left that life far behind. I still enjoy music but now I'm mostly just a listener. About a year ago I decided that the violin that my father had given me on my 16th birthday had sat around long enough and I decided that I would learn how to play.... unfortunately I ran short of money for lessons so I didn't get very far but I sure did have fun while it lasted! I was taking lessons from Cindy Thompson. She is an excellent teacher!! She tried her best to teach me to fiddle and to step dance. Someday when I have the money I'll go back to see her and give it another try.

Tom Leighton & Mark Haines, and Lu Robitaille & The Sound Waves. Tanglefoot is a real favorite of mine! There music is so much fun! I had one of their tapes but lost it so I'll have to make it to one of their concerts so I can get a new one!

I love to read. One of my favorite authors is Ann McCaffrey. They've started a web ring for people who love her books. It's called the Pern Ring just click on the name if you'd like to visit other people who are REALLY into her books! J.R.R. Tolkien is another favorite. As you've probably guessed I like reading fantasy. I love to get lost in the fantasy worlds of Pern and Middle Earth. Some days it's nice to have an escape! I like reading other books as well. In fact, I read just about anything I can get my hands on!

Well I've made it through a year and a half of school. There were times when I thought I wouldn't make it but I did! I'm not doing too bad either! Living here in the city sure is a change from from our quiet little village but we've adjusted. I'm still talking about going back to the country to get a job but now the kids are settled here and, although they'd like to visit, they don't want to move back right now.
I'm going to the University of Toronto where I'm working on a Psychology Major and a Linguistics minor.
I'm not on line nearly as much as I used to be but I try to keep in touch! If you have ICQ page me some time! My number is 4486729.
Between the 3 kids and school and general mom stuff I keep really busy!... it's gotten so my best study time is the middle of the night!!

My friends are very important to me. I have made a few very special friends here on the internet. Most of them I have met at ParentsPlace. I have met some of them in real life and have developed real time friendships.
Last year I joined a diet support group called the Loopy Sisters. They are all so wonderful and supportive! We don't just talk about diets... we talk about everything! We're as close or closer than real sisters!
As if my life weren't busy enough I've joined another group called HUGS. Lots of email!! It's difficult to keep up with some times! But they are all wonderfully supportive people who are going through a lot of the same things I'm going through being a single parent. Thanks to Kimmie for all her hard work in keeping the group going!
