John was born in Tasmania in 1879 to John Henry MANNING and his wife, Harriett Ann COBERN.
Emma was born in Ulverstone on October 9 1880 to Robert EUSTACE and Mary Ann ACKLAND.

The grandparents of Emma were Robert EUSTACE and Honorah DRADDY, Robert being born in 1818 and arriving in Tasmania in 1829 as a convict on board the "Thames".I have not researched Robert, where he was born, his family, or his convictions.......am leaving that to other interested person's!

Honorah DRADDY was born in 1822 in Cork. Ireland and arrived as a bounty immigrant in 1843 on the "Royal Sovereign". Honorah and Robert lived on the north coast of Tasmania, around Launceston and had six children: Emily, Martha, John, Robert, Eliza and Rebecca. Robert being the father of the above Emma EUSTACE.

John MANNING and Emma EUSTACE were married in the early 1900's. Though no research has been done on this family, other than a daughter - Elfreda (Freda) Victoria MANNING - being born at Launceston in 1911. Freda married Alfred Hacking ABRAHALL on 10 July 1937 at South Yarra. After having two children (Wilma and Robert) and four grandchildren (Debra, Robert, Ronald & Janine) she died at the Box Hill Hospital on 21st March 1969.

Her husband, Alfred, died at Croydon on 14 March 1976.
