October 11, 1995
I Joffery Cochennic, Sr. am writing about something very important that
happened to me in October of 1994.
One Saturday afternoon, ten minutes before the five o'clock mass in the evening, my wife Kate and I , also Mrs. Virgis France were going out the door to go to the five o'clock mass. The moment we got out the door, I saw my grandson's dog, a rottweiler by the gate, ready to jump the fence. It's a dog that sells for about three hundred dollars, and I took care of her for a year, and I didn't want her to get hurt or killed on the road. I didn't think anything, but to go and put here back in her kennel where she belonged and locked her in.
It had rained all night before, which was a Friday night. I had shined my shoes the day before, and I was dressed in a suit and tie. The back yard was flooded with five inches of water which I measured later on, and the ducks were swimming in it without touching the bottom. They also had tall grasses that was all wet as high as my head. I had a clearing that I took to go feed the dog and ducks.
That day, after I had put a rope around the dog's neck, she started to run back to the kennel with me holding on to the rope. She went right through the tall grass that was all wet. I put her back into her kennel and came out of the back yard. I looked at my shoes and felt my clothes and to my surprise, I didn't have a drop of water on my shoes or on my suit. I touched the sole of my shoes and they were very dry.
The distance from he gate to the dog kennel is fifty six feet even, that means that I walked one hundred and twelve feet in mud and water and I didn't get wet or dirty. The only reason I believe that happened is that God in His Goodness didn't want me to miss Mass with my wife and our friend.
Sincerely yours in Christ and His Holy Mother Mary,
Joffery J. Cochennic
P.S. We were able to get to church about two minutes before mass started. Thank God, JJC.
