September 11, 1995

In the early eighties, I Joffery and my wife, Kate Cochennic with our daughter Dianna, her husband, Albert J. Cheramie, and their three younger children, Annette, Gabe, and Mike had an experience. Annette had her good friend Monica over with her. We all went to New Orleans at Jackson Square to visit the St.Louis Cathedrals. The place was crowded with young hippies everywhere sitting on the steps of the Cathedrals carrying on badly with no respect for the House of God.

My wife and I with my daughter and her family went into the Cathedrals. Kate and I with the two young girls on the left side of the Cathedral, and Diana with Gabe and Mike went on the right side. There was only one lady with a young child sitting with her. We walked toward the Altar where there were candles to burn. I reached in my pocket to get some money to put in the slot to burn some candles. We were about thirty feet from the Altar when all of a sudden a very handsome young man I have never seen before appeared to me about three or four feet from me. I looked at him and he looked at me and as soon as I put the money in the slot to burn the candles the young man came to me and asked why are you burning candles? I responded, because its a beautiful way to pray to God. He said thank you and God bless you. He turned around and disappeared toward the Altar. No body saw him walk up to me and it was an experience that stayed with me always until this day and I don't believe I'll ever forget.

This young man was about five feet and seven or eight inches tall. His hair was a rich brown and very well groomed. His face was something I have never forgotten and I don't think I ever will. His pants was dark brown and his shirt was a light tan.

Sincerely yours in Christ and His Holy Mother Mary,
Joffery J. Cochennic
