His Love For Us

For God so loved the world, He gave His only son
To die for every man--each and every one

This son was holy and perfect--innocent and free from sin
He was pure, righteous, and beautiful--outside and within

This Son of God came down from a kingdom that loved Him so
To come and be a Savior to a world who could only cause Him woe

He knew what they would do to Him--that they would nail Him to a tree
But he came to help them anyway, so that He could set them free

He came as a precious babe, a messiah, a promised king
No other babe could be like Him, to make the angels sing

He grew up a kind and caring man--calling all to follow Him
He wanted to show each person the battles they could win

This Son of God went forth healing, teaching, casting out demons, and so much more
But no doctor, teacher, or missionary could carry the kind of burden He bore

For it was not only His purpose to heal the body as much as it was the heart
So that each man would ask forgiveness and seek for a brand new start

He wanted all to turn away from the things of the world that were so debased
So each day He would pray to His Father on His knees with a tear streaked face

The chasms of His love ran deeper than the deepest abyss of any sea
The love He had for His people was more tender than any other's could be

He desired for all to return His love by choice of following in His path
To give each man eternal glory rather than the fear of God's great wrath

He lived a perfect example for all who lived long ago and today
So that we would have His word to study and a prayer of victory to pray
