I was born Helen Mollica in Syracuse, NY, daughter of Anthony and Angela Mollica, but I have always written under my married name as Helen Barolini. I see that there will be a family reunion in Calabria in August 2001 and this is doubly interesting to me because my mother's side of the family (Cardamone and Sacco) are from Calabria, but the Mollica side is from Sicily. So I'm wondering why you sited the reunion in Calabria.

Also, my first novel "Umbertina" is the epic story of immigrants from Calabria to the U.S. and what happens in the family over four generations. I actually researched the book in my grandparents' Calabrian village when I lived in Italy some years ago. This novel has been re-issued by in 1999 The Feminist Press and is available at any bookstore or online at Amazon.com or B&N.com.
