There are many ways that you can go about identifying your Breyer models. Your best bet is to purchase a book on Breyers. Unfortunately, there are not many of these available and none that are "professionally" published at this time. In 1997, Breyer Molds & Models (by Nancy Atkinson Young) was professionally published and put on the market. Various self-published books are available, but often hard to find.
If you are unable to purchase a book, your next best bet is to look at catalogs, manuals, and issues of Just About Horses. The pamphlets found in every Breyer box are called manuals or collector's catalogs. The larger, full-size version of these are called dealer's catalogs. Both types are produced every year and show all regular runs for the year. Just About Horses is the magazine produced by Breyer. In every issue, there is an article on a Breyer mold ("Vintage Point") and a brief write-up on an older model ("Blast From The Past"). Some issues also include "Just About Breyer Animals". These articles from the past few years are listed in the below table. "Just About Breyer Animals" has been listed with "Blast From The Past".

2. Writing to other model magazines.
3. Place an ad on Equinet or other model web page asking for help.
4. Posting a polite note on the Haynet.
