Here are some easy-to-make recipes using nontoxic and environmentally friendly ingredients from you kitchen pantry. Most of these cleansers work best when freshly mixed.

    Mildew Remover

    1/2 cup vinegar
    1/2 cup borax
    2 cups water

To remove mildew from bathtub, tile, or shower curtain, wipe affected areas with mixture of vinegar, borax, and water. Or dip half a fresh lemon in borax powder and rub it over mildewed areas.

    Drain Clearer

    vinegar
    salt
    baking soda

To clear a drain clogged with grease or hair, try a mixture of equal parts of vinegar, salt, and baking soda. Let stand for 15 minutes, then pour boiling water down drain.

    Toilet Bowl Cleaner

    baking soda
    borax
    white vinegar

To clean toilet bowl, sprinkle equal parts baking soda and borax around bowl, add white vinegar, and clean with toilet brush. For stubborn stains, leave mixture in overnight.
