The contractions started getting pretty painful, and by 3:00am, mommy was in real pain. Her body began to tremble, so she got an epidural. Unfortunately, when the epidural went in, mommy's blood pressure dropped which caused baby's heart rate to also drop. To play it safe, mommy got some oxygen to make sure baby was OK |
Mommy only used the oxygen for 5 minutes because her blood pressure quickly got back to normal along with baby's heart rate. You can see the blood pressure monitor with the blue screen on the right. The monitor would automatically take her blood pressure every 15 minutes. It's 4:30am, and mommy is 4cm. Mommy is relaxed so much that she can actually take a little nap. | ![]() |

6:35am Sunday morning. Mommy is feeling pretty good. Well actually, she can't feel much below the waist. The nurse says mommy is FULLY dialated. and the baby is crowning. The nurses are preparing for baby Leong's arrival. You can see the "heat tray" in the background where baby will be laid. |
Mommy's Doctor arrives and takes her position. She says things are going well. Mommy and daddy can hardly believe that baby is going to arrive anytime. It's hard for them to believe that the "thing" that was elbowing, kicking, turning sommersaults, hiccuping, and sometimes waking to the tune of "Coconut Willie" inside of mommy for the past months is going to make his/her debut. | ![]() |
