FAVORITE RECIPES FROM OUR FAMILY, FRIENDS AND CHATTERS FROM ALL OVER THE GLOBE

Everyone has favorite holiday recipes that they make year after year. The following are just such recipes. Thank you to all who were so generous to share them with us.

        KATIE'S APPLE DUMPLINGS

3 Apples (You need a sweet firm apple)
1 Box Pillsbury pre-made pie crust (contains 2 crusts)
        2 c. sugar
        2 c. water
        1/4 t. cinnamon
        Butter

Make a syrup of the sugar, water and cinnamon. Boil about 5 minutes. Stir in 1 T. butter. Set aside.
Peel apples. Cut in half and core. Set aside.
Cut each pie crust into thirds. Place an apple half onto each third. Fill cavity with a little cinnamon, sugar and a dot of butter. Pull up dough around the apple and seal at the top.
Put into heavily greased baking dish (I use T-fal pie plates). Pour syrup over the apples. Bake at 375 for about 30 minutes. Remove from oven and baste with the syrup in the bottom of the baking dish. This are simple and really wonderful. For a change you can add a few cinnamon red hots to the apple cavity.

        1/2 to 3/4 c. mayonnaise
        1 T. milk 1 T. sugar
