Mind you, he did all the plans by phone. He was told he could bring a tape of music for the ceremony background. There was no way to really tell though, how the music would fit in with the actual ceremony. Something tells me our Guardian Angels had a hand in that as well! Songs were randomly thrown together in no particular order. The morning of the wedding we all met face to face for the first time. We went out to breakfast then back to our hotel. The groom said he had to run an errand, and disappeared for a while. Unbeknownst to the bride, he had to go buy an elephant! That will be explained later on, when you read about our cake. Duck headed for the hot tub......he truly is a duck.....always in hot water SOMEWHERE! Dee was scurrying about making enough food to feast an army, and still decorating! The groom returned and promptly fell asleep. It is now one hour before the wedding: the bride is dressed, the groom is asleep, the Duck is in the water and Cat is in the kitchen! But they all managed to get to the church on time.....

The ceremony was at Love's Chapel in Lake Tahoe. The minister was Reverend Love. That is his real name! A grandfatherly type soul. Married for 39 years to the same woman. His whole family runs the chapel. Lining the walls are pictures of people who had proceeded our visit there, many were celebrities. The chapel was exquisitely decorated. The only planned part of the ceremony was 2 readings we had picked out to honor Dee and Doug. The vows to each other were spontaneous feelings. As the ceremony progressed, the music played in the background. "Color of Love" by Celine Dion as the bride came down the stairs. "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce as the readings were done to honor Dee and Doug (that was their song). "Now and Forever" by Richard Marx started playing as vows were exchanged. The inscription in the rings was "Now and Forever". As Reverend Love was eloquently speaking of the power of love....."Power of Love" by Celine Dion started to play. Never, never, never could we have planned this without divine intervention........! Our wedding date was July 22, 1994. Two days shy of 3 months to the day we met....

This is one of my favorite pictures......taken outside of the chapel.

After the wedding we hurried back to our hotel to do what all newlyweds should do.....go online!

Now proceed to see why we had an elephant on our wedding cake.........
