Research done by Darlene Block is as follows:
I'll outline what I've found out so far on my line from John b. 1667 d. 1726-27. He and his first wife "Lettice Mary Ball" (name is in question) had two sons, one John b. 1701 and one Thomas. I come through John (who is called by some "of Belleview").
This John b. 1701 died in Prince Wm. Co VA in 1744. His wife was Ann Stewart (Information from the Wm and Mary Quarterly Vol 15 no 3 Jan 1907); I do not know if this John left a will; He and wife Ann Stewart Chilton had a son named Sturman Chilton born c. 1728 (I do know from another researcher(I believe it is Regina Roper) that John of Belleview husband to Ann Stewart did leave something that proved the relationship between them and Sturman as parents and child). Sturman left a will, he died 12 April 1785 in Loudoun Co. VA. His wife was named Mary (??Summerfield??); they had a son named John Chilton b. c. 1755 left a will in 1786 in Loudoun Co. VA, wife was Elizabeth (unknown). They had two children named James Chilton and a daughter named Frances (I come through Frances). Elizabeth (unkn.) Chilton is well documented, in both the Clinton history as well as the MUSE family history. After the death of her husband John Chilton, Elizabeth married in 1790 in Loudon VA a man named Edward Muse Jr. (the muse family has been exhaustively researched with great documentation). They then moved to Bowling Green KY her will is dated 15 May 1832 probated Oct. 1835 (there were additional children from her marriage to Mr. Muse).
The daughter mentioned above, Frances Chilton, was born 11 Feb 1778 in Loudon Co. VA. She married first to Sampson Jenkins about 1798 in VA. They are my 4th great grandparents. They had two children that I can prove: John and Sturman. Their son John Jenkins b. 12-1-1800 d. 8-13-1860 buried in Warren County KY. is my line. Sampson died by June of 1810 as there is an estate settlement in Loudon Co VA for him and Frances Chilton Jenkins is listed as head of household on the 1810 census. She then remarried Dec 25, 1810 in Loudon to Mr. Elihu Carter and moved to Warren County KY. In the Warren County KY 1816 Order Book E page 79 Elihu Carter was appointed guardian of John, Steerman, Fanny, Nancy, William and Elizabeth Jenkins, Orphans of Sampson Jenkins. I am unsure of the other children listed as I have found birth dates for them PAST 1810 when Sampson Jenkins was dead! So there is a mystery. I just know my John Jenkins was born in 1800 by way of his own tombstone!
So further down the line we go! John Jenkins married first to a Sarah H. (unknown) and they are my 3rd great grandparents. Their daughter is Susan Jane Jenkins b. 1843 d. 1882 married Jan 8, 1867 to Mr. John Wesley Manning in Warren County KY (the Manning family came to Waren County about 1800 from VA). I'm fortunate to have a photo of both Susan and John Manning. Their daughter was Sarah "Sally" A. Manning born April 1870 died Feburary 16, 1921, she married Henry Adison Miller Jan 1. 1891 in Warren County KY, (Again the Miller family arrived in Warren County about 1795-1800). Their daughter Mildred Miller b. Oct. 3, 1898 d. Oct. 1984 in Louisville KY (my grandmother) married in 1916 to Leo Davison of Allen and Warren Counties; their daughter Dorothy Davison b. 5-5-1921 d. 1-17-1981 married John Alfred Dixon Sr. in 1944 their daughter is me!
So there is my line. I'm a real stickler for trying to document everything I say in my research. I hope to find out how some of these generations have been placed together. I'm fortunate that SO many of my line arrived in Warren County early and they're still there! I'm the first generation to have been born outside the county in almost 200 years! My mothers father Leo Davison's family was the Davison and the Kirby's. The Kirby's of Warren County actually are documented as having come into Waren County in 1793 with a party that included Daniel Boone and some of his family! So my researching down there is fairly easy!
I hope this is of help to others!
