Talladega County, Alabama
According to family tradition, James DUNCAN had two families on adjoining plantations. My great-grandfather Albert MORRIS was his son by Julia A. MORRIS. Here is information I have uncovered on James DUNCAN and his descendants:
James DUNCAN was born in 1817 in South Carolina. According to his 1880 census entry his father was born in France. In 1880 he was living with his wife Francis (b. 1837 in Georgia) and their children:

By 1900 James was living with his son Dedman and grandson Richard in Wewoka. Francis was deceased. James died before the 1910 census.
