Sunday, 1st October
11:30 - 14:00: official forum of the clubs' representatives (Budapest, Baross u. 133.)
1. The four clubs gave a report on their activities and plans for the new Lions/Leo year. In fact, only Győr had done something important since the last Convention. (Zsuzsa Miskolczi talked on behalf of the Budapest Leo Club, and Ágnes Barics on behalf of the Sopianae Leo Club.)
Győr Leo Club (speakers: Gábor Czeglédi, Norbert Szolnoki and Gábor Molnár): They organized this summer the Hungarian Youth Camp next Győr, in Achilles Park. They shared their experiences - both good and bad ones - because next summer possibly all working Hungarian Leo club will participate in the organization of the Hungarian Lions Youth Camp.
2. The Leo Chairman of D-119, Loránd Szabó talked shortly about his activity (encouraging Lions to fund Leo Clubs, lobbying to get financial support to participate on European Leo Forums, informing the Governor about Leo events and activities).
3. We also discussed the fact that in spite of the general opinion in the West that Hungary is not a poor country, Hungarian Leos can not afford to attend European or International Leo events because the participation fees are far too expensive for their budget. A Leo from Vienna (Wien) Saint Stephan Club, Austria, Tünde Huber talked about their experiences and invited Hungarian Leos to their National Leo Convention and their activities. Leo Club Győr immediately invited her and Austrian Leos to our next Convention, and we agreed that the links between the two countries Leo clubs should be reestablished - given their close distance and the fruits of the Internet-based communication.
4. The Youth Protection Chairwoman of D-119, Andrea Prohászka talked briefly about her function.
5. The next National Leo Convention will be held in Győr in April 2000.
Remark: Kecskemét Első Leo CLub did not sent its representatives, the reasons are not known.
