1. The Leo Chairman, Ms. Carmen KOVÁCS announces the recognition of the Hungarian Leo District by Oak Brook. This came with the recognition of the latest Leo Club in Hungary, that of Kecskemét. She pointed out that the new situation requires a higher level of awareness from all the clubs. The administration becomes more complicated. We should push Lions Clubs to create new Leo clubs and ask them for financial help in order to be able to represent Hungarian Leo movement in international Leo events.
2. The presidents of the Leo clubs give a short overview of their recent activities:
Tivadar BALLUS from Kecskemét mention a tree-planting action for classes graduating in secondary schools, plans to organize a festival for amateur bands. Edit LŐRINCZ from Budapest talks about their care for the orphans of Abony, a concert for the Blind Children's Institute of Budapest, and new members recruiting. Norbert SZOLNOKI from Győr tells us about the Football Cup organized for the Pecz Aladár Children's Hospital, a tennis cup, a jazz concert at the Mayor's Hall and collecting Teddy Bears for children in the emergency vehicles to give them some kind of help. Zoltán ISTÓK and Loránd SZABÓ from Pécs talk about a cartoon projection for the Children's Home of Pécs, a Christmas Carol for the orphans and also about problems with recruiting new active members.
Then the representatives of Sopianae Leo Club Pécs announce that the next National Leo Meeting - the first Leo District Convention will be held in Pécs, in April 2000.
Remark:
Four clubs (Budapest First, Győr, Kecskemét, Sopianae - Pécs) were present from the seven.
