Who Has Been Deceived?
I like to ask people the question: "Not to believe in Evolution is foolish, isn't
it?" Then I like to ask another question: "Do you believe that accepting
Evolution is intellectual?" Most people will answer yes to these two questions, which
is no real surprise because that is what we are taught in our schools and academic
institutions.
I like questions so I have to ask another very important question: "Have you ever
looked at the scientific evidence for Creation?" Invariably most people stand looking
at me in stunned disbelief. "What? Scientific evidence for Creation? Don't be absurd,
there isn't any!" This is what's going through most people's minds in response to my
question. But there is also a note of caution, as most people sense that something
unforeseen is coming. They are right.
My next question is: "How can you make an intellectual decision about origins if
you are only given one side of the story?" The answer is that you can't! All you can
do is believe what you are told or not believe it. However, since we are not
given anything else to compare it with we accept what we are told. "Its only the
religious fools who believe in Creation. Its just a story but not a true one." Is how
Creation is dealt with but the scientific evidence is not examined.
In view of this and there being compelling evidence for Creation, how can believing in
Evolution be an intellectual position based on intellectual choice? Especially when you
have never been given the chance to weigh up the evidence with that of Creation? It is not
an intellectual position but a faith position!
I have yet another question: "Why were you not given the scientific evidence for
Creation to compare with the evidence for Evolution?" The answer to this is obvious.
Because the academic establishment is bigoted against Creation and a Creator. Not only is
this so but they are dishonest in the extreme. They manipulate you into thinking that
believing Evolution is the only intellectual thing to believe - "only a fool would
not believe it." They refuse to give you the choice by giving equal emphasis to the
scientific evidence for Creation. I find the scholastic system, in our world, completely
dishonest and totally one sided.
When I became a Christian I was a committed Evolutionist. I did not believe in the Adam
and Eve story as it seemed ridiculous to me. That was how I had been conditioned by my
schooling and the media. It was only a few years later, after talking to some Scientists
who were Christians, that I was first confronted with the scientific evidence for
Creation. It made great sense and to be honest it made far more sense than what I had
believed up to that point. It was at this point that I was free to make an informed,
intellectual decision based on the evidence put before me.
Most people say that if you believe in Creation you are deceived. I believe that the
ones deceived are those who have not had the opportunity to decide for themselves and yet
believe that they have made an intellectual decision.
Since I was first confronted with the evidence for Creation I have found it a very
interesting study and I would like to encourage you to study it yourself. The pages in
this section are designed to help you think through some of the issues. I hope you are
challenged as you see that there is something for you to give real consideration in these
pages. Happy thinking.
