He married Mehitable Harris. Mehitable was born 11/25/1744. She was the daughter of Henry Harris and Tabitha Wescot. Mehitable died 2/6/1822 in Brooklyn, CT, at 77 years of age.

John (Colwell) Colvin Jr. and Mehitable Harris had the following children:

15 i. Harris⁵ Colwell (Dr.) was born 2/3/1775. Harris died 5/20/1848 in Concord, PA, at 73 years of age. He married Marcy Angell.

16 ii. Asahel Colvin was born 9/28/1776. Asahel died 2/18/1834 in Brooklyn, CT, at 57 years of age.

+ 17 iii. Arthur Colvin was born 6/17/1778.

18 iv. William Colvin was born 10/27/1780. William died 3/12/1817 at 36 years of age. His body was interred in Foster, RI.

19 v. Phebe Colvin was born 12/28/1783. Phebe died 9/13/1856 at 72 years of age. Her body was interred in Brooklyn, CT, Brooklyn Cemetery.

20 vi. Stephen Colwell was born 2/13/1786. Stephen died 10/10/1795 in Foster, RI, at 9 years of age. His body was interred in Foster, RI, Oak Hill-Colwell Cemetery.
