COOKIE MIXES IN A JAR




M and M's Cookie Mix In A Jar
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 1/4 cups M and M's candies {Use the pretty christmas colored M and M's}
2 cups flour mixed with 1/2 tsp. baking soda, and 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Layer ingredients in jar in order given in a 1 quart "wide mouth" canning jar. It will be a tight fit when you add the flour mixture so be sure to pack everything down firmly.
Instructions to attach to jar:
1. Empty jar of cookie mix into a large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
2. Add: 1 stick margarine or butter softened at room temp.DO NOT USE DIET MARGARINE, 1 egg, slightly beaten, 1 tsp. vanilla.
3. Mix until completely blended. You will need to finish mixing with your hands.
4. Shape into balls the size of walnuts and place on a parchment lined cookie sheet 2" apart. DO NOT USE WAXED PAPER.
5. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes until edges are slightly browned. Cool on cookie sheet for about 5 minutes then remove to wire racks to finish cooling. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.

Brownie mix in a Jar
2 1/4 cups sugar
1/3 cup cocoa powder {be sure to wipe out inside of jar with a dry paper towel after adding the cocoa powder}
2/4 cup chopped pecans
1 1/4 cups flour mixed with 1 tsp. baking powder and 1 teaspoon salt
Layer ingredients in a 1 quart wide mouth canning jar. Press each layer firmly in place before adding the flour mixture.
Instructions to attach to jar:
1. Empty jar of brownie mix into a large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
2. Add: 1 1/2 sticks butter or margarine melted, DO NOT USE DIET MARGARINE, 4 eggs, slightly beaten.
3. Mix until completely blended.
4. Spread batter into a sprayed 9"x 13" inch baking pan.
5. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool completely in pan. Cut into 2" squares. Makes 2 dozen brownies.

Chunky Chocolate Cookie Mix In A Jar
3/4 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder {clean inside of jar with dry paper towel after this layer}
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 cup jumbo chocolate chip morsels
1 3/4 cups flour mixed with 1 tsp. baking soda, 1 tsp. baking powder and 1/4 tsp. salt
Layer ingredients in order in a 1 quart "wide mouth" canning jar. Make sure you pack all down firmly before adding the flour mixture, it will be a tight fit.
Intructions to attach to jar:
1. Empty jar of cookie mix into a large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
2. Add: 1 1/2 sticks butter or margarine softened at room temp. DO NOT USE DIET MARGARINE, 1 egg, slightly beaten, 1 tsp. vanilla.
3. Mix until completely blended. The dough is sticky. You will need to finish mixing with your hands.
4. Shape into walnut size balls and place 2" apart on parchment lined baking sheets. DO NOT USE WAXED PAPER.
5. Bake at 350 degrees for 11 to 13 minutes. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet. Remove to racks to finish cooling. Makes 3 dozen cookies.

Peanut Butter Cookie Mix In A Jar
1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 1/2 cups firmly packed powdered sugar {Clean inside of jar with a dry paper towel after this layer}
3/4 cup cocoa powder {Clean inside of jar with a dry paper towel after adding this layer}
1 1/2 cups flour mixed with 1 tsp. baking powder and 1/4 tsp. salt
Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 quart "wide mouth" canning jar. Be sure to pack everything down firmly before adding the flour mixture, it will be a tight fit.
Instructions to attach to jar:
1. Empty jar of cookie mix into large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
2. Add: 1 stick butter or margarine, softened at room temp. DO NOT USE DIET MARGARINE, 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter, 1 egg, slightly beaten, 1 tsp. vanilla.
3. Mix until completely blended. You will need to use your hands to finish mixing.
4. Shape into walnut sized balls and place 2" apart on a parchment lined baking sheet. DO NOT USE WAXED PAPER. Press balls down with a fork.
5. Bake at 350 degrees for 9 to 11 minutes until edges are browned. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet then tranfer to a cooling rack to finish cooling. Makes 3 dozen cookies.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookie Mix In A Jar
3/4 Cup sugar
1/2 Cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 1/3 Cups flour mixed with 1 teaspoon baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
8 large {7oz.} Reese's Peanut Butter Cups candies cut into 1/2" pieces.
Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 quart "wide mouth" canning jar. Press each layer firmly in place. It will be a tight fit.
Attach to jar:
Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Cookies
1. Remove peanut butter cups from jar. Set aside.
2. Empty remaining cookie mix into large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
3. Add 1 Stick butter or margarine, softened at room temp. DO NOT USE DIET MARGARINE, 1 egg, slightly beaten, 1 tsp. vanilla.
4. Mix until completely blended. You will need to finish mixing with your hands.
5. Mix in peanut butter cups.
6. Shape into walnut sized balls. Place 2" apart on sprayed cookie sheets.
7. Bake at 375% for 12 to 14 minutes until edges are lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet. Remove cookies to racks to finish cooling. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.

Trail Cookie Mix In A Jar
1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup wheat germ
1/3 cup quick oats
1 cup raisins
1/3 cup firmly packed flaked coconut
1/2 cup flour mixed with 1 teaspoon baking powder
Layer ingredients in order given in a quart "wide mouth" canning jar. Press each layer firmly in place, it will be a tight fit.
Attach to jar:

1. Empty jar of cookie mix into large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
2. Add: 1 stick butter or margarine, softened at room temp. DO NOT USE DIET MARGARINE, 1 egg, slightly beaten, 1 teaspoon vanilla.
3. Mix until completely blended. You will need to finish mixing with your hands.
4. Shape into walnut sized balls and place 2" apart on a sprayed cookie sheet.
5. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes until edges are lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet. Remove cookies to racks to finish cooling. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie Mix In A Jar
1/2 cup chopped macadamia nuts {to cut cost you could use half chopped almonds}
3 {1.4oz.} Nestles White Chocolate Crunch candy bars, coarsely chopped {press this layer down very hard in the jar}
2 cups flour mixed with 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/4 cups sugar
Layer ingredients in order given in a quart sized wide mouth canning jar. Press each layer down firmly in place {I use the bottom of a small clean juice glass and press each layer firmly in place}
Attach to jar:
White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies
1. Empty cookie mix into large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
2. Add: 1 stick butter or margarine, softened at room temp. DO NOT USE DIET MARGARINE, 1 egg slightly beaten, 1 tsp. vanilla.
3. Mix until completely blended. You will need to finish mixing with your hands. It will take a while to mix into a smooth dough.
4. Shape into walnut sized balls. And place 2" apart on sprayed cookie sheets.
5. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes until tops are very lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet. Remove to racks to finish cooling. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.

Orange Slice Cookie mix In A Jar
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 3/4 cups flour mixed with 1 teaspoon baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups orange slice candies, quartered (10 oz. package)
Layer ingredients in order given in a quart sized wide mouth canning jar. Press each layer firmly in place, it will be a tight fit.
Attach to jar:
Orange Slice Cookies
1. Remove orange slice candy from jar. Set aside.
2. Empty remaining cookie mix into large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
3. ADD: 1 stick butter or margarine, softened at room temp. DO NOT USE DIET MARGARINE, 1 egg slightly beaten, 1 teaspoon vanilla.
4. Mix until completely blended. You may need to finish mixing with your hands.
5. Mix in orange slice candy.
6. Shape into large sized balls. Place 2" apart on sprayed baking sheets.
7. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes until edges are lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet. Remove cookies to racks to finish cooling. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.

Butterscotch Brownie Mix In A Jar
1/2 cup firmly packed flaked coconut
3/4 cup chopped pecans
2 cups firmly packed dark brown sugar
2 cups flour mixed with 1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt
Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 quart sized wide mouth canning jar. Press each layer firmly in place.
Attach to jar:
Butterscotch Brownies
1. Empty jar of brownie mix into large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
2. Add: 1 1/2 sticks butter or margarine,softened at room temp. DO NOT USE DIET, 2 eggs, slightly beaten, 2 teaspoons vanilla.
3. Mix until completely blended.
4. Spread batter into a sprayed 9"x 13" metal pan.
5. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool 15 minutes in baking pan. Trim 1/2 from each edge of brownies {discard this later-it is overcooked}. Cut brownies into 1 1/2" squares. Cool completely in pan. Makes 2 dozen brownies.
