1850 Niagara Co, NY census.
James H. LYKE m. Mary D. REYNOLDS abt. 1858. They had four known children:
Cora Elizabeth, b. 1859, Byron James, b. 1864, Wallace H., b. 1867, and Fred L., b. 1873.

Information which may provide a clue to Martin's ancestry:
From H. Lewis LYKE, Denver, CO.: Johannes LEICK was one of 3,000 Palatines (The
Palatinate was at one time a province of the Holy Roman Empire, now part of Germany)
brought over by Queen Anne in 1710 and settled in what is now Columbia County, New
York, at what is now called Germantown and several nearby communities. Johannes
had two sons: Martin and Johannes. Son Johannes had a son Johannes who had three
sons: Henrick, Andreas and Jacob who seem to have disappeared - probably went to
Pennsylvania or Western New York like so many other Palatines did.
Martin had a son Martinus, the last of eleven children, probably born between 1768
and 1787 as the 13 June 1787 will of Martin LYKE divides the balance of his estate
50-50 between his wife and minor son, Martinus.
