1999 Corps de Napoleon Coronation Ball

I would like to share with you my observation of the 1999 Coronation Ball of Corps de Napoleon. The Ball was held on January 23. The Parade was held on February 14, which was Vantenine's Day. The theme of the Coronation Ball and the Parade was "ADORING DUOS".

The Ball opened with the Color Guards of the U.S. Marine Corp. The National Anthem was sung by Bill Zeller.

The Master of Ceremonies was Larry Ball who was dressed like Cupid. The narration was of Cupid thinking that Napoleon needed added romance.

Check out Cupid in the heart shaped shorts!

To assist him, Cupid relies on Tinkerbell (Melanie Bremermann).

Tinkerbell's job was to sprinkle "fairy dust" so that Napoleon would succumb to the idea.

Cupid summons Napoleon to tell him how added romance is needed in his life.

Napoleon appears with a bang and confetti! Napoleon is protrayed by the Captian, Irvy Cosse', Jr.

Check out the back of the Captian's costume in the prior picture.

Napoleon introduces his Officers:

Al Maranto who is in charge of "throws" and supplies for Corps de Napoleon.

Fred Brechtel, Jr. who is in charge of distributing Corps de Napoleon newsletters and other correspondence from the Captian.

Jay Michell who is in charge of den maintenance and float renovation. The den is the building where the Corps de Napoleon owned floats are stored.

and Irvy "Chip" Cosse', III who is in charge of the Corps de Napoleon Parade line up. He is also responsible for the Napoleon web site.
