Michigan records say he died at age 44 so dates need to be proved. Some
researchers including Esther Miner show his birth date as 23 Sep 1780 which
may be incorrect. The Portrait and Biographical record of Allegan Cty, MI
concerning his son John lists the children shown except Lydia is replaced by
Maria so more research is needed to confirm the children. A Michael Whisman
indicated that he had a death date of 2 Oct 1820. |

He is said to have had 2 more wives; Durena Hopkins and Mary Wheeler
Alexander. It is possible that some of the children are linked to the wrong

Removed to Watson, MI and later lived in Otsego Twp, Allegan, MI. Children all
born in Lenox, MI. They had six children with 2 dying in infancy. At the age
of 10, he removed from Junius to Milo Twp, Yates, NY and in 1838 he came to
MI and commenced work in Lenox Twp, Macomb, MI. For a while he worked as a
blacksmith but in 1855 moved to Watson Twp. He was in Co. L, 4th Mich. Cav.
and served from 1862 until Jul 1865. He was with the regiment which captured
Jefferson Davis. After discharge in Nashville, TN, he returned his home in MI. |
