indicate the surname is questionable.

Notes for Hopson (Child 2)
Hopson was a Captain during the Revolutionary War enlisting in Salisbury, CT.
He was one of the early settlers of Athens Cty, OH arriving in 1803 and
settled in Rome Twp. The area was later named Beebe Station after the Railroad
was built. Don Beebe of Calgary, Canada shows a child named Lydia who m. James
W. Peters but no reference is made to them in the Hopson Beebe Bible.
Notes for Peter (Child 6)
Soldier in the Revolutionary War. He is said to have fought in the Battle of
Bunker Hill and was wounded in the hip by a bayonet. He lived in Saybrook, CT;
moved to Canada about 1785 and then to Perry, Wyoming, NY before 1819. The
children of his second marriage are from the files of John Blodgett.
Notes for Clarissa (Child 12)
John Morrell points out that this child's name is not Clarence and calls her
Clarena. However, the "Ancestry of Matthew Cadwell," compiled by Rev. Elisha
W. Cadwell in 1900 says her name was Clarissa.
