In my travels of living on my own I was picked up by the dogpound guy and they took me to JAIL. Some people found me and took me home, BUT, They decided I wasn't the dog for them they wanted a smaller dog with manners, so they put me on the pet-line. A lady named Andy that my mom knows runs a pet-line and she put me up for adoption. That is how my mom found me! (Thank you Andy for helping me find my true home.)
I remember her coming through the gate into the backyard with Jessie. He came to see me too to be sure we would get along OK. We did, and I liked mom, so we packed my bowls and the few toys I came with. They walked me to a "car" and I thought OH NO... not again! (Mom has marked that day as November 20, 1994... I like that day, we call it my Adoption Day! I get special treats... he he)
The trip was quick and they brought me into a cool house, one that had a big backyard to play in. I met the new dad and cat brother "ROCKY". Rocky is a very handsome guy and we have become best friends.
I had a difficult time at first understanding I didn't have to steal things for myself. I was so used to being on my own taking whatever I needed. I would do the same at my new house and take things to the backyard. I never chewed anything like Jessie but would gather things I thought I needed "just in case." I learned the words "DROP IT" (those are words mom uses when I have something I'm not supposed to have.)
I once took a big (brand new) block of cheese my dad was going to cut up and use. It was very tasty. After the cheese incident, I finally realized that I was very lucky, I had all the food I needed, all the toys I wanted, all the hugs and scratches and even a baby woobie that I carried everywhere for months. I didn't wake up without taking it with me. I really loved that baby woobie. If you do not know what a woobie is, please see Blaze's Woobie World.

I enjoy my life, I know I am loved, I know I don't need to fend for myself and I know a car ride isn't the end of the world. As you can see I am very comfortable now!
This is about as far as I like to go in a pool
Things I like:
Recently mom found another guy to share our house, his name is GILBERT, if you think my beginning story was sad, read his story!
Would you like to go to Grinnin' Gilbert's Page?
Or go back to Jessie's Page?
Please sign this Petition for Stricker Laws Against Animal Abuse Your help is needed! Please help all pets and animals, it will make my tail wag!
Meet Cody and Elsie (one on the "couch"). They are friends of ours, and they believe it or not are brother and sister! They have a special story in that their mom was rescued from being tied to a tree (how very sad), and she was terrifically scared of everything. Luckily our friend Cheryl rescued their mom and took her in while she was pregnant with them. We felt the loss at their mom but wondered in their growth and charm as they grew into the beautiful pups they are! Thank you Cheryl for rescuing and keeping these lovely pups!
Being a golden that was adopted twice I would ask you...Wouldn't you like to save a retriever (go ahead be a hero!)
